New Municipal Development Charge Rates Feb.1, 2017!!!! 

Municipal Development Charge Rates will be revised by an indexing factor of 3.2%, effective Feb.1, 2017.

The "Municipal DC Fee Schedule and By-Law" will be available in the New Year!!!!

Municipal Development Charges

Municipal Development Charges are collected from new construction projects to help offset the cost of municipal services such as sewers, roads, fire, emergency services etc. Effective February 1, 2016

School Board Development Charges 

The City of Orillia also collects development charges on behalf of the Simcoe County District School Board and the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board.  Funds are then reinvested into the construction of new area schools. Effective November 4, 2013.
