For immediate release (May 16, 2024) – Attention all Orillia treasure hunters, the City of Orillia Waste Management Advisory Committee’s annual Treasure Hunt program is returning once again, kicking off May 18, 2024.
The Treasure Hunt program runs on the third weekend of the month from May to October 2024 to encourage the reuse or recycling of large household items.
Residents are encouraged to leave unwanted, but still useful, household items at the curb after 5 p.m. on the Friday of the event...

Holiday Schedule for Victoria Day 2024

City of Orillia administrative offices will be closed on Monday, May 20, 2024 for Victoria Day. This includes:
- Orillia City Centre (50 Andrew St. S.)
- Municipal Operations Centre (20 James St. W.)
- Wastewater Treatment Centre (40 Kitchener St.)
- Water Filtration Plant (200 Bay St.)
- Waste Diversion Site (100 Kitchener St.)
Hours of operation for other City facilities/services include:
Orillia Transit/OWLS: No service on Monday, May 20.
Orillia Recreation Centre (255 West St. S.): Open 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Laclie Street Reconstruction Phase 2 begins May 21

For immediate release (May 13, 2024) – With completion of Phase 1 of the Laclie Street Reconstruction project anticipated by May 17, 2024, Phase 2 is scheduled to get underway after the Victoria Day long weekend.
The second phase, which includes Laclie Street from Borland Street to Parkhurst Crescent, consists of road reconstruction and infrastructure replacement, including new watermain, sanitary and stormwater sewers, new sidewalks, and new traffic signals at North Street.
