Immerse yourself in the weird and wacky world of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” at the Rotary Aqua Theatre in Couchiching Beach Park Wednesday Aug. 14, 2013.
The free screening of the iconic cult-classic film wraps up the Orillia Parks, Recreation and Culture Department’s successful Movies in the Park series. Audiences of more than 200 enjoyed watching the original “King Kong” in June and the documentary concert film “Neil Young: Journeys” in July.
“Movies in the Park has been a great success this summer and we look forward to continuing the event next year with more cinematic favourites,” said Mayor Angelo Orsi.
“The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” intended for audiences age 16 and over, will be the most interactive screening of the summer series. Coinciding with the plot of a young couple stumbling into a castle inhabited by weirdos from the planet Transylvania, are cues to speak back to the screen, throw pieces of toast, toss rice, create a simulated rainstorm with water pistols, and wear a party hat.
